I was fortunate enough to be asked by my friend Juan Carlos to come and help cover a great event called Smiles for Habitat that was founded by Dr. Jennifer Buchanan to help make the dream of home ownership a reality. I thought it was a great cause so I jumped at the chance to be a part of it! The night was kicked off by local singer Christine Taylor singing our National Anthem, followed by Tommy Katona, The Maylee Thomas Band, and the night’s headliner Gavin DeGraw.
Gavin DeGraw had the crowd on their feet all night long as he played his heart out for them in the Texas Heat! After the event he stuck around and spent hours signing autographs for his fans.
Packed up the family and got on the road over the holidays, it was nice to spend some time away and relax for a few weeks. We spent most of our time at the in-laws, and while we were there we went to go visit my Brother in Law “Albert” at his new job with the Eagle Pass Fire Department. It was a nice surprise that at his station they house an old ’60s era truck for parades and such, I had to get a few shots of that!
I have to add that today Albert became a father!!! Stephanie gave birth to their beautiful daughter “Makayla Rodriguez” 6lbs 10 oz!! Congratulations Albert and Stephanie!! Welcome to the wonderful world of parenthood!!!
We were very fortunate to photograph Nancy and David’s wedding at Highland Park United Methodist Church a few weeks ago. The music during the ceremony was amazing! The choir put chills down your spine as that beautiful pipe organ warmed your soul. The reception was held in the Great Hall at the Church where more music was surrounding you being performed by Radu Cernat aka “The Violin Guy” while Nancy and David’s guest were treated with Royers Round Top Cafe pies brought in just for the occasion. Between the reception and the after party at Dave and Busters we had a little time for an after session where we shot in front of the Winspear (where we shot Nancy’s Bridal), on the M-Line Trolley, Pioneer Plaza and ended up at Starbucks for a little caffeine before seeing them off to their after party. A very special thanks to Fairy Tale Photography for allowing me to shoot this for them!
Nancy and David are all about the performing arts! They dedicate so much of their time to helping out, that shooting Nancy’s Bridal at the AT&T Performing Arts Center just made perfect sense. We were lucky enough to be able to shoot on the stage of the Windspear, the roof top of the Wyly Theatre, as well as the patio where the big square cut out on the side is. Here are just a few…
